Enhancements to Road Network in Tuas South to Support Future Development

To support the industrial developments in Tuas South and the consolidation of Singapore’s container port activities at Tuas over the next decade, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will commence works to enhance the road network in Tuas South. These enhancements include the construction of the Tuas Road Viaduct (Phase 2) (TRV2), which is an extension of the existing Tuas Viaduct, as well as related road enhancement works along Tuas South Avenue 3, Tuas South Boulevard, Pioneer Road and Tuas South Avenue 5. The works are expected to commence from 2025.

2        As works progressively complete from 2030, motorists can look forward to better connectivity and shorter commutes in the area. The existing Tuas Viaduct together with TRV2 will enhance connection between the major expressways in the north (AYE and PIE) and industrial estates and Tuas Port in the south.

3        LTA will be calling tenders for the works progressively from the third quarter of 2024.

Land Acquisition

4        To facilitate the construction of TRV2 and related road works, nine part-lots of private land will be acquired by the Government. These lots are within seven properties owned by JTC and currently leased to private entities. The acquisition involves only ancillary features such as boundary walls and fencing. Existing buildings and operations will not be affected.

5        The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) has gazetted the acquisition of the affected land today. SLA and LTA will work closely with the affected parties and assist them through the acquisition process.

6        The notification of the land affected by the acquisition has been published in the Gazette on 2 Aug 2024. The Gazette Notification No. 2461 dated 19 Jul 2024 may be found online at www.egazette.com.sg. The affected private properties are listed below:
