Fact Sheet: More State land in Punggol to be developed to enhance vibrancy in Punggol New Town
- Five parcels of State land at Punggol East Road , along Sungei Serangoon,
will be developed to enhance the vibrancy in Punggol New Town.
- The Singapore Land Authority ( SLA ) is renting out via public tender
three parcels of State land, Parcel 2, Parcel 3 and Parcel 5 to be developed
for food and beverage outlets with outdoor areas, a sea sports centre and a
golf driving range respectively. The tenders are scheduled between April to
July this year.
- Parcel 4, which is to be rented out for plant nurseries and retail garden
use, was opened for public tender on 28 February. The parcel can accommodate
three plots of nurseries and retail garden. The tender will close on 31 March.
- Parcel 2, 3, 4 and 5 will be rented out on renewable three-year tenancies
up to a maximum of nine years. Parcel 1 is designated for sports, community
and recreational use, and details on the project will be announced later. The
initiative of opening up vacant State land in Punggol for interim uses,
pending its future development, is in line with SLA 's mission to optimise
land resource for economic and social development of Singapore .
- The total site area for the five parcels is close to 10 hectares and the
gross floor area (GFA) is estimated to be over 10,000 square metres. The
details on the proposed uses and site areas are at Annex

C .
- The five parcels were jointly identified by a taskforce comprising
representatives from grassroots leaders of Punggol North constituency, SLA ,
the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), the Housing and Development Board
(HDB). The taskforce was set up in October 2003 to spearhead community
developments in Punggol North .
