Local and regional interest in SLA’s intelligent map system project
Singapore (20 November 2008) – The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) had received proposals to design, develop and maintain a government-wide intelligent map system.
2 The tender,
which closed on 17 November, includes development and maintenance of the system.
The bids came from major IT service providers comprising both local and regional
companies.
3
When implemented,
the intelligent map system will provide a common and consistent look-and-feel
map interface for public agencies to build their map services. It will also be
the gateway for the private sector to tap on rich government content and mash it
up with their own spatial content to create services and to support business
needs. Individuals can even use the maps for personal use.
4 The tender will be awarded in January 2009.
