The Minister for Law has appointed four new members to the Singapore Land Authority (SLA). SLA welcomes these new members, who are appointed for a term of two years from 1 August 2013.

New Appointments

Mr Tham Kui Seng, Non-Executive Director, Global Logistic Properties Ltd & several other companies;
Mr Lai Huen Poh, Managing Director, RSP Architects Planners & Engineers Pte Ltd;
Mr Walter Fernandez, Managing Director, Mediacorp Press and Editor, Today; and
Ms Valerie Thean, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Law.

Re-appointments

Six members will be re-appointed for a two-year term from 1 August 2013. The appointment of Mr Vincent Hoong, Chief Executive of SLA, which took effect on 1 May 2013, will end on 31 July 2015.

The Chairman, Deputy Chairman and three other members will remain with the Authority, having been re-appointed for a further two-year term on 1 August 2012:

Singapore Land Authority (SLA) is a statutory board with the Ministry of Law. Its mission is to optimise land resources for the economic and social development of Singapore. SLA is responsible for the direct management of some 14,000 hectares of State land and about 5,000 buildings. It is also in charge of land sales, leases, acquisitions and allocation, developing and marketing land-related information, and maintaining the national land information database through digitised land information services.
