Annex B: Details of the GeoInnovation Fund Framework
1. The objective of the GeoInnovation Fund (“Fund”) is to catalyze the creation of geospatial applications and services. All individuals and companies/organisations may apply for the Fund. Proposed projects should rely on using geospatial data or delivering geospatial services.
2. Up to $50,000 will be available per project. The actual amount of funding for each project will be determined by the evaluation panel comprising members from public agencies and the private sector.
3. Funding will be disbursed in stages over a maximum of 12 months. The following components are eligible for funding: Equipment – hardware, software; materials and ICT services; applying for intellectual property rights; marketing and publicity expenses; and training. Other funding items will be considered on case-by-case basis.
4. An additional 20% funding will be made available if OneMap is used as the basemap for the project. However, the total amount of funding will cap at $50,000.

6. The
Intellectual Property Rights will vest with the individual/organisation that
created the data, products, application, services, etc unless otherwise stated
in the letter of offer.
7. Applications are welcomed throughout the year. For projects which had already started, the applicant has to state what the other funding sources are and how the GeoInnovation Fund will be used for the project. A copy of the application form is enclosed here.
