Temporary Closure of Seah Im Food Centre for Upgrading Works

Seah Im Food Centre (SIFC), popular among Singaporeans working around the Harbourfront area, will be closed for six months from September 2022 for upgrading works.  Last upgraded in 2001, patrons can look forward to dining in a more pleasant environment when SIFC, managed by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), reopens in March 2023.

The upgrading works will include replacement of tables and stools, enhancement to the ventilation system, upgrading of toilets and other refurbishing works.

SIFC, which derived its name from Seah Im Road, was built in 1983 by the Port of Singapore Authority (“PSA”) and returned to the State when PSA was corporatised in 1997. The food centre is currently operated and maintained by SLA’s managing agent, Knight Frank Property Asset Management Pte Ltd (“KFPAM”).

The food centre has 44 cooked food and drink stalls and 16 non-food stalls. SLA has been engaging the stallholders since October 2020 to keep them informed of SIFC’s upcoming upgrading works and to provide assistance if required during the renovation phase. The advance notice allows stallholders to arrange for their business continuity plans while SIFC is closed temporarily for upgrading. Stallholders can also contact KFPAM or SLA if they have any further enquiries.
